Climate Changes and Extinction of the Fossil Forest

Abstract
Climate changes are often associated with the pollution caused by economical activities, which caught on from the second industrial revolution. Actually, only in the last period man have been influencing climate, because climate-changes happened all the time in Earth’s history. However, they were changes in balance with the environment. The Earth keeps traces, for example, of alternating between glacial periods and hot interglacial periods. With ice age means a long period in which Earth’s poles are completely covered by ice. The transitions from glacial to interglacial periods, and vice-versa, are not sharp. They occur through climatic fluctuations: by continuous alternations of lowering down and raising up of temperature. Now we are in a time of rising temperature started about 10.000 years ago, in an ice age started about 3 million years ago.
