From Wetlands to Lake Trasimeno

Abstract

The article presented grew out of the second brainstorming session of the University of Perugia held on 3 and 4 February 2021 and entitled "UNIPG reflects on Lake Trasimeno". The latter turned out to be an important opportunity of dialogue and sharing among about 80 university scholars from all research areas, as is appropriate when approaching environmental problems. The author is among them and as such submitted a technical report concerning the cultivation of microalgae for commercial purposes. On April 27, 2021, the University of Perugia ultimately approved an agreement with the Umbria Region, the Province of Perugia and the Union of Municipalities of Trasimeno in order to contribute to the sustainable development of the Lake Trasimeno area.
